reTURN the Favor Walk at Thompsons Beach

May 26 @ 10:00 pm

Spring is winding down, but still have time to rescue horseshoe crabs.

Horseshoe crabs frequently are stranded on their backs by rough waters or hazards during their high tide spawning and they need a little help to get back on their feet. Join us for a Beach Walk at Thompson’s Beach to help rescue crabs while learning more about these unique creatures.

reTURN the Favor is a collaborative effort that enables organized volunteer groups to save horseshoe crabs stranded on New Jersey’s seasonally closed and open beaches.

Great for all ages. Service learning credit available. Please be sure to dress for the weather and wear footwear that can get wet. Please bring a headlamp or flashlight and bug protection.

SPECIAL NOTE: When driving on Thompson’s Beach Rd you will come to a parking lot and a gate on the road. We will meet at this gate in the parking lot. There is a 0.71 mile walk to get to the beach.
